Producer information is the identity that appears on every document Cara generates on your behalf — the producer name, license number, agency name, address, contact info, and signature. Cara scopes producer info at two levels so you can match how your agency actually operates.

Two levels of scope

Agency

A single producer identity used as the default across the agency — set once by an admin under Settings → Agency.

User

A per-user producer identity resolved via the Agency User record. When present, it overrides the agency default for documents that user creates.
Most agencies configure the agency-level producer as a fallback and add user-level overrides for licensed producers who need to sign their own forms.

Configure agency-level producer information

  1. Navigate to Settings → Agency.
  2. Under Producer Information, fill in:
    • Producer name and license number
    • Agency name, address, phone, and email
    • Preferred producer contact (used on COIs and correspondence)
  3. Save. Cara uses these values as the default on every generated document.

Configure user-level producer information

  1. Navigate to Settings → Users and open the user you want to configure.
  2. Toggle Custom producer information and fill in the fields.
  3. Save. Cara resolves producer info through the Agency User record, so when this user generates a document, their overrides apply.
If a user has no custom producer information set, Cara falls back to the agency-level default. There is always a value available.

Signatures

Signatures are configured separately and can be selected per document at generation time — see Fill Forms & Certificates. The slideout viewer lets you switch signatures on a specific document without changing your default.

Editing producer information

Producer information edits use PUT semantics — updates are field-level and won’t clobber unrelated fields. You can freely update a single field (e.g. a new phone number) without re-entering the entire record.
